Avandra Health acquires DatCard and Sorna to Create Unified Medical Imaging Platform
Avandra Health has acquired DatCard Systems and Sorna Corporation to establish an integrated medical imaging platform combining advanced clinical data sharing with large-scale, de-identified data aggregation. The move strengthens Avandra’s capabilities in patient care, research, and AI-driven innovation while ensuring continuity of DatCard and Sorna’s widely used imaging solutions.
Strengthening Imaging Infrastructure Across Health Systems
By integrating DatCard’s global DICOM distribution footprint and Sorna’s Vertex cloud-brokered data-sharing technology, Avandra aims to expand seamless imaging access for clinicians and researchers. Together, the companies serve a broad network of U.S. academic medical centers, including more than half of National Cancer Institute sites.
Advancing AI and Clinical Innovation Through Unified Data
Avandra plans to invest in product enhancements, R&D, and customer support to accelerate medical imaging innovation. Leadership emphasized that combining the three organizations enables faster development of AI tools, improved clinical workflows, and a robust platform supporting both daily care delivery and long-term research initiatives.
